Who can get a Library Card?
Any resident of Maryland is eligible for a free library card.  Children under 16 years of age require a parent/guardian's signature to obtain a library card.  All non-Maryland residents will be charged an annual fee of $10.00 to join the library.   Children under 16 years of age from out of state who apply with their parent receive a free card at the time of a parent's application or paid renewal.

What do I need to get a card?
In order to obtain an ACLS library card, you must present identification with your name and current address to any branch.  A picture ID is preferred.  In lieu of a picture ID, two (2) items with your name and address should be provided.  Acceptable items would include mail postmarked within the last 30 days; a recent utility bill; lease agreement; checkbook/bank statements; or legal correspondence from government agencies or schools or universities.
